Net sniffer for IP-based protocols (such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, HTTP, FTP)

IP Sniffer is an easy-to-use net sniffer able to intercept packets from ISO/OSI level 3 (network). It can so handle Internet Protocol (IP), Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) and any higher-level protocol based on those, such as HTTP, SMTP or FTP (that are based on TCP/IP). IP Sniffer uses raw sockets and so no driver installation is required. It comes with a very user-friendly interface and anyone can understand it even after the first sight. This version of IP Sniffer is freeware (see the attached license agreement). Additional features can be asked to the author.


Features:

  • Any IP-based protocol handled;
  • Decode headers of the following protocols:
    • IP;
    • TCP;
    • UDP;
    • ICMP;
    • IGMP;
  • Show packed data for TCP and UDP;
  • Filters depending on:
    • protocol;
    • IP address;
    • TCP port;
    • UDP port;
  • Export data to file (standard TSV format);
  • Clear and autoscroll buttons.


Main characteristics:

  • Win98, Win2000, WinMe, WinXP, Vista compatible;
  • Less than 1MB of free space required;
  • No installation needed.
